Be back to the valley whenever.

Philly Phasion Overseas

SPOTTED: Quentin sporting a Philadelphia t-shirt at the Teenagers prom with a clown or something. I donno, I don't pretend to understand hipster Brits.
Either way, I feel like wearing a Philadelphia t-shirt over in England would be the equivalent of wearing a t-shirt from Bath or Coventry. I'm not sure what the equivalent to Philly would be over there. It would have to be near London ( a la Philly to New York ) yet dirty and SORT of Historical.
The Teenagers will be coming to Philly May 9th to buy more souvenirs and maybe play some music. Make sure you go and make sure its a good time because (insider information!!!): Their last show in Philly was not wildly awesome.

Departure Day Deux
This is lifted from my super action adventure journal:
Departure days are always the worst and today was no exception! Our "early" start was barely sufficient. The train took forever. While waiting for the train, I was getting a little gamey so I thought I'd freshen up with some deodorant. I blindly reached into my luggage followed by my toiletry kit but WOOPS, I felt something painful, like a wasp sting or something.
It was, however, my four bladed razor. Turns out the cap came off. So that took a huge chunk out of my thumb and I'm bleeding all over the place. Lucky there was a station guard that I ran over to and said "TIENES UNA SERVILLETA?!" I didn't know the word for tissue, so I just asked for a napkin. Luckily, showing my blood-drenched hands translates well into any language for help. He gave me every single tissue he owned and then I sat on my luggage and pouted.
The airport was not bad. We didn't have to wait long but the terminal was really small and cold.
Airplane List:
--Last Vegetarian meal (chang chang! pesto pasta)
--Pizza party later on
--Mid-flight ice cream break
--People thinking I'm Spanish
--iPod death
--Hot tea
--Cranapple juice
--August Rush
--Nausea (perhaps caused by August Rush)
--Enchanted
--Elizabeth the Golden Age
--First class cookies
--Pesto
After the flight, I thought we would have to wait in the long line for passports BUT we got to go to the way shorter U.S. citizen passport entrance. God Bless America! Then I got my luggage and said goodbye to Jen and Yasmin because my plane was departing in a half hour. The security check was really long as well and I was stressin'.
Good thing my flight was delayed.
I wish I would have written in my journal from the beginning but oh well.
NO REGRETS SPRING BREAK 08!!!
(official slogan which came in handy now and then)
Plus I blogged everyday. I miss the city and the food and basically everything. Except maybe the sleeping situation and Genesis coughing on everyone.
I can't wait to see the pohotos taken by Max, Yasmin, and Jimmy. They're gonna be great. Max has HQ shots and fantastic group shots. Yasmin has some good gems from various events. And Jimmy was the only one to take photos at RAZZMATAZZ.
So yeah, fantastic trip.
Leah and Dani were waiting for me at the baggage claim and later I went out with two of my VURRY best friends Claire and Kristina. Came back to my room that's the size of THREE of the Barcey bedrooms and I got to sleep in a real bed and I passed the heck out.
I still haven't unpacked and I still need to upload photos.
Which will hopefully be the next post.
Ciao!

Yikes my Bikes
The title is borrowed from a saying my friend used to say and this video is lifted from a MySpace bulletin I saw this evening.
Warning, this video may make you crave warm weather.
Also, I find the video humorous.
Enjoy
P.S. I officially bought my ticket to Barcelona. We have an eight hour layover in HOTlanta so if anyone knows of anything fun to do in that city, let me know. We'll probably just end up hanging with Nelly.

You've Been Drafted (a Ticket)

Thankfully, having a bike gets rid of 90% of my traveling problems. I can't give it a full 100% because rain and cold make me sad. Especially rain.
All blibberblabber about my Victorian-born item of transportation aside, the whole point of this post is to talk about a new show on A&E called "Parking Wars". The show depicts meter maids and the workers of "car pounds" dealing with parking tickets and more importantly: Angry customers.
The show combines some things I enjoy:
1. People who work in the service industry
2. Angry people
3. Philadelphia
I work two jobs: one as a waiter and one as a steamer of milk ( I refuse to use the word that the corporation wants us to use ), I deal with customers all day. Thankfully, a good portion of the customers who come into the restaurant where I work are really nice and not so problematic. I think it has something to do with being organic vegans or what have you (not that I'm pushing an agenda or anything!). But as for the coffee chain where I work, there are many particular people who get cranky when things do not go perfectly. Or if there is not enough whipped cream. Or if they can taste that I put regular coffee in their cup as opposed to decaf.
As for angry people, I like watching them make up stuff and try to get their way which never ever works. This show is very similar to "Airline". This show is also similar to my real life experiences at Dorney Park, which could be an entire post or blog in itself.
And finally, the show is set in Philadelphia. Nothing makes me more excited than to see things I see everyday in real life, on tv. No jokes. Right now summertime is in full swing so there is probably a low chance of me seeing myself. Perhaps I'll make it a semester goal to get on that show (in cameo, no fights or parking tickets please!).
Enjoy.
Edit: Right now they are strolling through the ghetto(aka anywhere in the city that's not center) and everyone is hootin' and a-hollerin' about them being there. Eee I like this show a lot. Go see it.
